The Kennedy Homestead and farm is the birthplace of John F Kennedy’s Great Grandfather and details the history of many generations of the Kennedy Family. When President Kennedy came to Ireland in 1963 he visited the Family Homestead to meet his cousins. The farm here is still farmed today by the descendants of the Kennedy family. 

Cavan, also known as ‘The Lakeside County’, is renowned for having 365 lakes, one for every day of the year, so it would be a pity when visiting not to spend at least a day at one. My friends and I love kayaking and canoeing on Lough Oughter with Cavan Canoe Centre. 

You can travel the world over, but you will always come home, when I do, this is my ‘Perfect Day’ in Cahir. First is first, hit up Cahir Castle, the obvious choice but it is a must. Beautiful and completely in your face, smack bang in the middle of the town, you can’t miss it! 

One of my favourite places to visit in Ireland is the wee city of Kilkenny.The main attraction for tourists is the famous Kilkenny Castle, situated in the centre of the town. On a sunny day the castle grounds are lined with both locals and visitors embracing the “fine weather”. I highly recommend a tour of the castle.
