What is Scratchable Map Ireland?
Scratchable Map Ireland is an A2 scratchable map of Ireland. The name gives it away, right? It's purpose is help you record the attractions that you have visited in Ireland and to help you chose the next one to visit. There are 62 attractions on the map. All 32 counties are represented. It is hand drawn by Tipperary artist, Cian Corcoran.
How did you come up with the idea for Scratchable Map Ireland
Basically, I wanted one for myself. None existed at the time, so, alongside my mother, Vera, we went about creating one.
What size is the map?
Scratchable Map Ireland is approximately A2.
That is 420 mm X 588 mm OR 16.5 X 23.4 Inches
What is the smell off the map?
It's just the ‘scratch off stuff’. It is usually more noticeable just after you take it out of the box. Don’t worry. It goes away quickly.
What is the best way to "scratch" the foil from the map?
Lay the map on a flat smooth hard surface and gently scratch off the foil layer using a finger nail, coin or hard plastic object.
The foil is not coming off cleanly or not at all or is damaging the paper underneath, Why?
That depends on a number of things, such as when you purchased your map, where it has been displayed or stored.
The foil will harden over time but usually can be easily scratched off for a period of up to three years. If the map has been displayed on a wall and has been exposed to direct sunlight or on a damp wall or near a heat source, it may harden quicker and makes it harder to remove the foil covering

Do you sell personalized maps?
We’ve looked into it. Unfortunately, to personalize Scratchable Map Ireland, we would have to charge more than we’re happy to sell for and probably more than you’d like to pay.
What’s the best way to hang the map up?
Straight forward blue tack works just fine. It you’re looking for something a little fancier, you could try a poster hanger or even framing it.
We've recently added magnetic poster hangers and to our shop if you're looking to having your Scratchable Map Ireland looking its beautiful best on your wall.
If you intend to hang your map on a wall, please ensure it is not over a radiator, near a heat source or in direct sunlight. A cool dry area is the best place to display your map.

How did you choose the attractions that are on the map?
Good question! Failte Ireland visitor numbers, TripAdvisor, Discover Ireland, our own opinion, the opinion of friends from all over the country.
We felt it was important every county was included. We also found it hard to narrow down what should go into to some counties. Like Dublin, a small space with loads of brilliant attractions packed in. We did our best. Hope you like it.
